10 Ways WWE Can Make The IC Title White-Hot By WrestleMania 32
2. Main Event A PPV
From Brock Lesnar's crushing win of John Cena at Summerslam to his unexpectedly loss to Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania, the WWE World Heavyweight Title was essentially a part-time attraction. This forced the WWE into tricky mini-era of booking, tasking them with finding a way to build exciting climaxes to their PPV cards without their ultimate title. For the most part they succeeded in creating legitimate non-title main events. Rollins and Ambrose blowing off their feud at Hell in a Cell was fantastic. With an appearance from Sting and the Authority's position of power being on the line, Survivor Series' main event was huge. At Fast Lane, Reigns and Bryan worked magic. But not all were quite as effective. TLC 2014 closed with a TLC match between Ambrose and Wyatt, whose feud felt nowhere near suitable for the main event. A much more suitable contender: Harper vs Ziggler (in his hometown) in a ladder match for the IC Title. Should the WWE wish to place the belt on Lesnar again, or have Seth Rollins become embroiled in a non-title PPV match, what better way to rekindle the glory days of the IC belt than by having it close out a PPV? It's not like it's without precedence. Such an occurrence would instantly whisk fans back to Summerslam 1992, when Bret Hart put the belt on the line against the British Bulldog (in his home country) at the top of the card. The WWF title match was 4th to last. With the right feud, should the WWE choose to close out even a B-show like Battleground or TLC with a IC title match, it would be a huge statement of intent: The Belt is Back.
