10 Ways WWE Can Shake Up RAW
7. An NHL Style Rebuild
These are difficult times for fans of Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks and a couple of others. NHL teams go in cycles, putting all of their eggs in the basket of a talented generation in the hope of winning a Stanley Cup or two, before time catches up on the stars and it is time to rebuild. Faith is put in the stars of tomorrow and the franchises (and their fans) are forced to accept a period of mediocrity before the good days can return.
WWE should have been through this a few times already. The glory days are gone, long gone, and WWE should have realised this a long time ago. New stars should have been given time to grow under veteran eyes. You don't need to be an expert to see that the company is desperately lacking new stars but the blame only lies at the door of the company itself, as opposed to the performers.
Years ago, there were rumours that Paul Heyman was on the verge of taking over the booking of TNA and he was planning on getting rid of everyone over the age of 40. I'm not saying WWE needs to do this with RAW but a rebuild is needed. Look at the red brand stars on show at TLC: Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston and Shelton Benjamin have been around in one form or another for a long time, and the average age is 37.5.
RAW needs a rebuild. The ratings can't be any worse than they currently are, so why not now? Build some new stars. Better late than never.
