10 Ways WWE Can Turn Around Its Ratings Woes
7. Up The Sex Factor
Fans and critics alike have panned the Rusev/Lana/Bobby Lashley/Liv Morgan storyline but it's done great numbers for WWE both in terms of TV ratings and YouTube views. Content like that is trashy but people want to see where it goes and while we may be living in a politically correct time, a lot of viewers still want to see segments like Lana and Rusev in bed even if it's just for a glimpse of...well, not much at all really!
It may sound juvenile but, ultimately, sex sells and WWE embracing that might not be a bad thing at this stage. Women do tune into RAW and SmackDown each week but it's a predominantly male audience and while female talent should absolutely still be treated with respect, imagine the quarter-hour numbers if Scarlett Bordeaux (who has been vocal about wanting to bring sexiness back to women's wrestling) was out there each week and involved in a risqué storyline?
No one is suggesting getting rid of the stellar women's division and going back to "Divas" but utilising some female AND male Superstars in this way could bring back teenage boys - which WWE needs - and fans who miss the antics of the Attitude Era.
