10 Ways WWE Can Turn Around Its Ratings Woes

6. Increase The Number Of Gimmick Matches

WWE's shows have a habit of blurring together and that's because a lot of what we see isn't much different to what happened the week before. A couple of weeks ago, though, RAW had its first Ladder match in years and there's no way anyone is going to forget that thrilling battle between Andrade and Rey Mysterio any time soon.

These shows are too often dominated by No-DQ matches and glorified Street Fights with the same old weapons but marquee stipulations like a Cage match or a Submission match should be used more frequently. That's not to say that every episode of SmackDown should end with one but WWE no longer needs to save these for Pay Per Views because the WWE Network has made the concept of fans "buying" a PPV irrelevant.

If Roman Reigns finally wants to get his hands on King Corbin with no outside interference, why not make it a Cage match? Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy are fighting again? Well, it's time to make it an Iron Man match! WWE's TV shows need to feel like a big deal and gimmick matches like these, not to mention an increased number of title bouts where the belt actually changes hands, are a must.
