10 Ways WWE Could Have Improved WrestleMania 36

7. Fewer Matches

WrestleMania 36 may well have been too big for one night but even if you combine both nights it was still an hour shorter than last year’s “Showcase of The Immortals.”

That’s no bad thing, and in fact it would have been better shorter still. WWE could easily have trimmed a few bouts from the card and delivered a tighter, better show.

With apologies to Bobby Lashley and Aleister Black, their match would’ve been first to go. It had no build and no real reason to exist beyond the pair being amongst the available talent.

The second night’s tag title match could’ve easily moved to the kickoff show, starting the night on some fast paced tag action. Then they could either drop Natalya vs. Liv Morgan or cut down on Corey Graves’ interminable chatter.

They could still have taped the extra matches and held onto them for a future Raw or SmackDown. The aesthetic between ‘Mania and TV is near identical right now anyway. Plus they didn’t know how far they were gonna need to stretch their content if they suddenly couldn’t film anymore. It’s only very recently (and dubiously) that WWE has been confirmed as an "essential business".
