It doesn't really matter which one, but you're sure to catch a legend or two mingling with current talent whenever you tune into Raw and SmackDown around the time of WWE's big four events.

For WWE's older audience (which is the majority these days), a throwback to yesteryear after another stressful day might be well received. WWE knows this, which is why the company is more than willing to toss aside younger talent for the sake of a blast from the past.

Alas, WWE rarely makes good use of returning legends. Legend's Night, for example, largely consisted of performers who hung up their boots long ago and were booked as mere caricatures of their former characters.

A more glaring example came during both nights of WrestleMania 37 when Hulk Hogan returned to Tampa Bay and hosted the show alongside sparsely used jobber Titus O'Neil. Both performers called the area home but received varying responses. O'Neil was highly praised any time he spoke, whereas Hulk Hogan (who was there to boost interest) was booed out of Florida every time fans saw his face.

It's completely understandable if WWE brings back a legend, like Edge, to benefit the current roster and programming. Unfortunately, Vince & Co tend to bring back legends for the sake of garnering a ratings pop. Whenever we're lucky, they have little to no impact on the stars or shows as a whole.
