10 Ways WWE Raw Has Improved Since The Brand Split

6. Long-Term Storytelling

There is no doubt that WWE’s creative team has been putting a much greater emphasis on subtlety and deliberation in their storylines. Long term builds typically give much greater scale to the matches themselves.

Though there are inherent risks for planning that far ahead, the best moments come from stories that were long in the making. Look at Daniel Bryan’s triumph over The Authority or the eventual detonation of the Mega Powers. These are special stories that won’t ever be forgotten and it’s due to their slow burn.

WWE are well on their way to creating a few more classic stories and feuds with the current direction of Raw. Seth Rollins’ gradual babyface turn has been fantastic and his subsequent feud with Triple H should blow us away. Team Kevin and Chris/ Chris and Kevin have been teasing their dissension for months and I look forward to how they carefully craft that story every week.

These stories make Raw’s future appear very bright barring injury. Take a look at Roman flip flopping the belt back from Sheamus around TLC and there’s no question as to which method of storytelling works better.
