It’s easy to forget just how important commentary can be to wrestling at any level, but WWE fans are used to top level commentary thanks to iconic voices like J.R. Enter Byron Saxton. All kidding aside though, the Michael Cole/JBL combination was more stale than Jack Swagger.
The commentary changes to both Raw and SmackDown have been essential in the betterment of both programs, but Raw’s commentary has been injected with a new life. Corey Graves has played his role to absolute perfection and is only going to improve as his chemistry grows with Cole and Saxton. Even Byron Saxton has grown into a likeable character while taking Graves’ belittlement.
Along with vast improvements in commentary, Raw has also tinkered with minor aspects in its presentation. By introducing new camera angles as well as a return to the red ropes, the product truly feels like it’s a different show than the one we were watching four months ago.
