10 Ways WWE Screwed Up At Fastlane 2017

3. Bad Babyface Syndrome

Bad Babyface Syndrome is everywhere in WWE, and at this point, it might be incurable. It has been a longstanding problem in Raw’s main event scene, where Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are completely unlikeable as the brand’s resident schoolyard bullies. Now, the problem has infected the women’s division, and corrupted the one true babyface who should have been immune to all this: Bayley.

Bayley and Sasha Banks effectively screwed Charlotte out of the belt last night. There was absolutely no need for Banks to interfere in the match, particularly with Dana Brooke away from ringside, but her distraction led to the pinfall. Afterwards, Bayley was all too happy to celebrate with Banks and her ill-gotten gains, and now, the Women’s Revolution’s former heroes have become just as villainous as those they claim to oppose.

The booking just doesn’t make any sense. There have been hints that Sasha will eventually turn on Bayley, but the whole theme of Bayley’s title charge was that she wanted to do it on her own. Furthermore, her character is supposed to be the purest, most innocent member of the roster, who triumphs through guts and determination over everything else. WWE obliterated this at Fastlane, and have left their Raw Women’s Champion without an identity.
