10 Ways WWE Screwed Up At Money In The Bank 2017

As if James Ellsworth’s Money In The Bank involvement wasn’t bad enough, the company’s response was totally daft. With the dust still settling, WWE decided to cover their horrendous booking decision by having every woman not named Carmella voice their discontent online, in a meek attempt at turning this into some kind of worked shoot:

Even a first-time viewer should be able to see through this. The company, once again, are trolling the audience, and taking them for fools by suckering them into a misguided meta "gotcha" situation. They want us to believe that the likes of Becky and Bayley are speaking out of turn, and that their heat is genuine, which is borderline insulting from a fan’s perspective.

This will likely lead to an angle on SmackDown, particularly with Daniel Bryan set to return to television tonight, but no good will come of this 'Summer Of Ellsworth.' At this stage, the angle feels more like something that’ll anger viewers and drive them away, rather than compel them to tune-in and see the villains get their comeuppance. It’s hard to pull that off when said villains are the company themselves, however, and it'll be interesting to see how they handle things on SD.
