10 Ways WWE Screwed Up At SummerSlam 2017

1. A WWE Title Stinker

Jinder Mahal Shinsuke Nakamura

As if Jinder Mahal's cripplingly dull WWE Championship reign wasn't bad enough, the man botched his own finishing move last night. Seriously.

'The Modern Day Maharaja' put Shinsuke Nakamura away with a sloppy Khallas - a conclusion few would've wished for. A coronation for 'The King Of Strong Style' would have gone over huge, but it wasn't to be, and the match preceding Jinder's victory stunk.

There's no point in sugarcoating: Mahal just isn't a good professional wrestler. He projects himself well, but he doesn't connect, he moves like a broken action figure, and he needs Singh Bros. chicanery to mask his weaknesses. He was true to form last night, and it resulted in another dull title match.

Nakamura needs to take his share of the blame too. He's universally beloved, and his charisma is electric, but his main roster workrate has been questionable. Nak knows that all he needs to do to generate a reaction is make a few funny faces and knee people in the face. This is almost understandable for a beaten-up 37-year-old, but it doesn't make for great matches.

Not only did WWE burn Shinsuke's undefeated streak with a loss here, but they got lazy with the format, producing a match with little to separate it from Jinder's other title matches. Can't this reign just come to an end already?
