10 WCW Greats That WWE Didn't Know What To Do With

2. Diamond Dallas Page

It's been talked about to death, but DDP got hosed when he came to WWE. He was arguably the biggest star to make the jump when WCW folded (World champ Booker T carried more prestige but wasn't as recognizable), and he was programmed into a feud with one of WWE's top dogs. Bless him, DDP tried to make the feud work, but it wasn't meant to be. In WCW, Diamond Dallas Page was one of their top homegrown stars, their People's Champion. He skyrocketed to superstardom by refusing to join the nWo and fighting with the Macho Man for months on end. He was a three-time WCW World champion. Fans flashed the diamond cutter sign every time he appeared. This wasn't a hit-or-miss prospect like some of the others on this list. DDP's unmasking as the stalker of Undertaker's wife sent the crowd into a frenzy, proving that he was not just recognizable, but still immensely popular. But WWE completely misplayed his entire run, abandoning the idea of DDP getting into 'Taker's head and using him to climb the WWE ladder and instead turning him into an actual stalker. Then Undertaker buried him six feet under. Then Positively Page happened. Then DDP was gone. But DDP has contributed more positively to the WWE community than anyone could ever imagine with the miraculous turnarounds of Scott Hall and Jake "The Snake" Roberts.
