10 WCW Greats That WWE Didn't Know What To Do With
3. Goldberg
The hottest star WCW created from the ground up (and subsequently destroyed, but nevermind that now), Goldberg was one of the last big names to make the jump to WWE. It was a huge deal. WWE programmed Goldberg in against their biggest star, The Rock. You would think that would have helped establish Goldberg, but after being trained that WCW stars are inferior, the WWE fans weren't buying. But the biggest muff in Goldberg's one-year run by far was the world title chase. Goldberg had to wait until SummerSlam for his title match which makes little sense if you knew you had a one-year contract that started in March which he lost to an injured HHH. Goldberg would win the title the next month, but the damage was done. Everything after that was just HHH staying in the title picture until he got the belt back. Goldberg should have come in and established himself with the power moves and squashes that built him up in WCW and moved quickly up the card to a title win.
