10 WCW Moments So Bad They’ll STILL Blow Your Mind

9. Lex Luger Reads Vince Russo’s Mind

The 15 May 2000 episode of Nitro opened with a steel cage...sorry, "House Of Pain" match between Sting and Vampiro. WCW's mini-Hell In A Cell style cage stayed put so Russo could corner Miss. Elizabeth later warned that Madusa would give Liz "the beating she deserved".

Somehow, one Lex Luger sniffed out this wicked scheme, dressed up as a member of the ring crew, dropped through a hole in the cage roof, then slapped a Torture Rack on Madusa. God only knows how Lex could've possibly known Russo's plan ahead of time, but he did.

No, it didn't make a lick of sense whatsoever.

Russo hadn't given any inkling into his scheming, so there was no good reason for Luger to cosplay as a ring technician at all. Did he just do that for fun, or something? Even the announcers were baffled, because they realised that Vince had literally just made the match seconds before.
