In 1997, Dennis Rodman was one of the most notorious personalities in the entire sporting world. Having been suspended by the NBA for kicking a cameraman in the groin mid-game, 'The Worm' found himself with some free time on his hands.

With a love for pro wrestling and an existing relationship with Hulk Hogan, the situation presented the perfect storm for Rodman to enter WCW. 'Rodzilla' soon became a fully-fledged member of the nWo, complete with his own WCW merchandise. Regularly getting involved with Hogan's matches throughout '97, Rodman also competed in a match at Bash of the Beach '97, teaming with Hogan in a losing effort to The Giant and Lex Luger.

Meanwhile, on the WWF side of the trenches, Vince McMahon was courting Mike Tyson, who was serving a lengthy suspension of his own after biting Evander Holyfield's ear in their WBA Heavyweight Title fight in June 1997. With 'Iron Mike' no longer licensed to box, 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' made his way over to the WWF and joined DX in early 1998.

While Tyson left the WWF immediately after WrestleMania XIV, Rodman returned to in-ring competition at Bash at the Beach '98 in the much-publicised tag match with Hogan against DDP and Karl Malone. Rodman wrestled once more a year later, against Randy Savage at Road Wild.
