We've many things to be thankful to WCW for: Goldberg, the nWo, the very underrated tradition of throwing your trash into the ring at the conclusion of each match.

But modern fans also owe them a debt for giving a young AJ Styles his first brush with the mainstream. The future WWE Champion made his bow on an episode of Thunder in February 2001, forming a short-lived tag team with Air Paris (whose own career in wrestling didn't reach quite the same heights) just weeks before his new employers went under.

Rotten luck, but his brief stint in Atlanta did his chances of landing more wrestling gigs no harm, and he soon after found singles fame in ROH and TNA, after a couple of Jakked appearances in WWE.
