10 Weird Times WWE Superstars Shared The Same Theme

3. The Patriot/Sgt. Slaughter/Kurt Angle

The glorious fanfare of Kurt Angle's 'Medal' has become synonymous with the Olympian-turned-WWE great. Fans revel in pauses which allow them to chant "You Suck" in his direction, and the theme is very much Kurt's own these days. That wasn't always the case. Before the song was even called 'Medal', it was merely a generic piece designed to sell patriotism.

Both The Patriot and Sgt. Slaughter used the instrumental for their respective runs in 1997.

Think about that for a second: imagine if Rick 'The Model' Martel or someone like that had used Goldust's trademark theme years before he was even a character. That's the kind of thing we're talking here - and it's well weird to look back on.

It's even weirder to watch Slaughter use Angle's music to wrestle Triple H at In Your House: D-Generation X, a full two years before Kurt made his proper in-ring debut for the WWF. One of WWE's greatest ever was handed the most generic stock music available, and he made it work.
