10 Weird Times WWE Superstars Shared The Same Theme

2. The U.S Express/Hulk Hogan

The popular narrative for years was that Rick Derringer wrote 'Real American' for Hulk Hogan's main event run in the WWF and eventual superstardom. That's simply not true. Yes, Derringer did write the song for wrestling, but he did it for Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo's U.S Express tag-team instead.

It's incredible how the track took on a new life once Hogan started using it.

During his peak run, Hulk would have fans jamming along to the tune long before he came through the curtain. By contrast, the audience barely reacted to 'Real American' when Windham and Rotundo came to the ring. It was they, the wrestlers, who were the focus, not their catchy entrance piece.

WWE have used 'Real American' for laughs at several points over the years too. Big Show used it as the Hulk parody 'Showster' character, and even Naked Mideon and Pat Patterson (wearing women's lingerie) have had shots at Hogan's legendary track.

It's better on Hulk, to say the least.
