With all that even the most casual fans know about how physically taxing pro wrestling is, it's hard to believe that there are those who still dismiss it as "fake." Though the results of bouts are predetermined, broken bones and torn muscles come with the territory of competing. There isn't a single high-level wrestler who hasn't suffered his or her share of injuries.

Things have gotten even worse over the past couple of decades. As more athletic styles of wrestling have come to dominate the slower-paced action of yesteryear, the wear and tear on competitors' bodies has been accelerated. More high-risk moves have become commonplace, and with more risk comes more chance of debilitating injury.

Still, every aspect of pro wrestling carries a risk, and sometimes, strange things happen. Wrestlers can get hurt performing the simplest of maneuvers, participating in angles, or even celebrating -- in fact, the oddest injuries can be the most debilitating.

Here are 10 weird wrestling injuries that prove that, in the ring, anything can happen and everything has.

CM Punk successfully defended the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2012, but with Royal Rumble winner Sheamus challenging World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, a contender for Punk's title at the show of shows needed to be named. The night after the Chamber, Raw hosted a ten-man battle royal, with the winner getting a title shot at WrestleMania XXVIII.

Chris Jericho would win the battle royal, but not before a cavalcade of mishaps. After R-Truth took a nasty bump to the outside, Dolph Ziggler was eliminated. Wade Barrett attempted to catch him, but dislocated his elbow in the process, sending Dolph crashing into the announcers' table. Cody Rhodes, already working on an injured leg, collapsed in the ring after nailing The Big Show with a Disaster Kick. Kofi Kingston was launched out of the ring by Jericho, but Vickie Guerrero was in his way and he was forced to change directory, crashing into the barricade. Santino Marella was eliminated, landing right on Barrett's bad arm.

The whole thing was an impossible series of unlucky events. Barrett missed significant time due to his elbow, but luckily, the other men were not seriously injured.
