10 Weirdest ECW Main Events Ever

6. Cactus Jack vs D. C. Drake - Return Of The Funker 1995

The 1995 ECW supercard Return of the Funker was named such because it welcomed the late great Terry Funk back into the promotion after a notable absence.

So, who did Terry have a match with on the show? Nobody... huh...

Funk's best bud and protégé Cactus Jack did get on the card, though, and in the main event no less. He would be facing a mystery opponent as selected by the evil Woman, who turned out to be... D. C. Drake?

Who the hell is D. C. Drake?

Don Clyde Drake, which is a readymade wrestler name if ever there was one, was actually retired at the time of this match. As a result, he lost to Mick Foley in about four minutes, ending the show on an anticlimax. But that was the point.

This flat finish brought out the aforementioned Funker, who proceeded to beat down Jack with the help of Drake, Woman, and The Sandman. This brought out Tommy Dreamer to save the day and then Shane Douglas, who turned babyface by fending off the baddies and saving Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy.

As it turned out, the real main event of this show was an angle rather than a match. Very strange.
