10 Weirdest Jobs Wrestlers Had Before They Were Stars
7. John Cena: Limo Driver, Gold's Gym
Despite going on to become a 16-time World Champion, John Cena didn't always have his heart set on being a future WWE legend.
In fact, at 21 years-old Cena dreamed of becoming a bodybuilder and even tried to be a police officer in Santa Monica. However, he failed the Californian Highway Patrol exam.
After this he considered a career in the marines, before landing a job as a limo driver. Cena told Ask Men, "I worked as a limo driver for a while, and it was before GPS was commonplace like you still had to go off a map... And I was not good. At all."
Sensing that the limo life wasn't for him, Cena eventually got himself a job at Gold's Gym. This involved him working on the front desk, starring in a commercial for them and even scrubbing the loos. However, that toilet trouble wasn't in vain as one day a member of the gym asked if he'd be interested in the world of wrestling and the rest, as they say, is history.
Cena may have only figured out what he wanted to do in his mid-20's, but his determination to work and make something of himself eventually led to him becoming one of the biggest stars the wrestling industry has ever seen.
