1. Pentagon Dark Breaks Several Japanese Women's Arms
The match that Vampiro grunted his way through was peculiar even without his odd vocalizations. It pitted crowd-favorite and sinister luchador Pentagon Dark in a gauntlet match against the members of the Black Lotus Triad, a mercenary group whose eponymous leader had her arm broken by Pentagon near the end of Season Two.
Her revenge was this match. Yup, an entire episode of the show was dedicated to Pentagon brutalizing three women borrowed from Japan's Stardom promotion.
Now, no matter what you think of intergender wrestling, this was not competitive or entertaining. This was a crowd of people fervently cheering on while Pentagon beat the unholy hell out of these smaller women, then broke their arms.
He would lose the third match, get his arm broken by Black Lotus, and then get his other arm broken by El Dragon Azteca Jr. (another receipt for damage done in Season Two), but that didn't make up for the fact that viewers spent most of an hour watching some seriously one-sided fights.
It was weird, unpleasant, and a rare misstep for a show that is often entertaining and engaging.
