10 Weirdest Moments In Stone Cold Steve Austin's WWE Career

3. Giving Vince A Hug

In between WrestleMania XVII and the memorably screwed up Invasion storyline that came just months later, Stone Cold's character was basically a lunatic lapdog owned by Vince McMahon. It had "What in the hell?" written all over it. Many fans still haven't recovered.

Imagine the bated breath of crowds around the world when this relationship seemed to collapse. After being informed of his involvement in a handicap match (something the cowardly Steve of 2001 took exception to), Austin aggressively confronts the boss. It leads to some strong words, and a small amount of shoving...

...and then a big hug. Steve puts his arms around Vince, rubs his back, and stares emptily into space. If nothing else, it played into the expectations of audiences, and you be the judge of whether that makes it worse or not. We were all hoping for instant salvation from this terrible storyline and that hope was shattered once again, this time via a loving embrace.

All is forgiven and Steve and Vince were buddies again. Wouldn't it be horrible to see these two fall out.
