Ever found yourself wondering why the likes of Corey Graves, Michael Cole, and the rest of the gang spotted doing commentary on Raw, SmackDown and NXT aren't seen getting into the festive or spooky spirit with their choice of clothing as often as they used to?

Well, according to one-time WWE commentator Tom Hannifan (f.k.a. Tom Phillips), Byron Saxton is actually to blame.

Jumping back to a Halloween edition of Monday Night Raw that went down a few years ago, Corey Graves decided to opt for the 'David S. Pumpkin' suit that once appeared in a Saturday Night Live sketch as his on-screen costume of choice. Saxton on the other hand wore... a onesie.

And not just any onesie. "A bright, powder blue, duckie onesie with footsies", as Hannifan told Talk'n Shop (via WrestlingInc).

A shot of the Raw commentary team in all their fancy dress glory, including Saxton's footsies being on show for all to see, soon led to an edict being put out that stated "no more costumes for announcers."

And just like that, Saxton's fondness of ducks and comfort cost the rest of the commentary squad the chance to embrace popular holidays via dress-up going forward.
