10 Weirdest Things WWE Ever BANNED
2. Thigh Slaps
In a call that was evidently forgotten about almost as quickly as it was made a surreal thing, Vince McMahon woke up one morning in early 2021 and suddenly decided that his Superstars slapping their thighs when delivering a superkick, or any other move for that matter, simply would note stand!
So, on top of reportedly handing out fines to those who simply refused to play by these bizarre new rules, it was said that signs with the words “NO THIGH SLAPPING” were put up backstage in a bid to deter workers from giving in to their body whacking urges on-air.
As expected, the entire drama, supposedly brought on by Vince witnessing one of his wrestlers performing a blatant thigh slap on SmackDown and not being all too happy about it, caught the attention of fans and veterans alike, with stars like Shawn Michaels admitting to not really having a huge problem with performers sneakily hitting their legs in an attempt to make a move seem more impactful.
And a quick glance at the leg-slapping world of sports entertainment today tells the story of a weird ol' ban that lasted about as long as a cheeky slap to the thigh.
