6. Lance Storm Bursts An Eardrum Getting Slapped
Many tag teams in wrestling have their issues, whether it be miscommunication, one star feeling inferior to the other, or the fact that they simply don't like each other.
This was the case with ECW tag team champions Lance Storm and Chris Candido, and a coming together ahead of a title defence caused Candido to burst Storm's eardrum with an errant slap.
It was supposed to be a continuation of the feuding duo's disintegrating relationship - with Candido slapping the 'Canadian Superstar' across the face as their match got started. However, he connected with his ear and perforated Storm's tympanic membrane.
What's astonishing about this story is that Storm not only concluded the contest, retaining the championships, but proceeded to have another match immediately afterwards against his partner - wrestling for a combined forty minutes whilst presumably deaf in one ear and with a severely affected equilibrium.
