10 Weirdest Wrestling Moments That Were SO CLOSE To Happening

4. Mr. Kennedy Becoming Vince’s Son

It's easy to forget just how hot Mr. Kennedy was back between 2005-2007. His obnoxiously-loud promos and self-referential style got over huge with fans, and it looked like it was only a matter of time before Kennedy took his rightful place at the top of the pecking order as WWE Champion.

Before getting there, Vince McMahon had another idea: Kennedy would become his storyline son. What better way to made the guy seem like a big deal than to make him a McMahon overnight? The plan had legs, but then personal issues reared their ugly head and Ken got suspended after violating WWE's wellness policy.

Bummer.

WWE pivoted towards comedy and put Hornswoggle in Kennedy's place. That dreary plot point killed the angle's potential stone dead, and it meant that creative couldn't come back to Ken when he returned. His push became an immediate afterthought, and WWE moved on as though it was never the plan.
