10 Weirdest Wrestling Moments That Were SO CLOSE To Happening

2. WWE Raw Turning Into WCW Nitro

This will be fascinating forever.

Numerous sources, including Bruce Prichard, Jim Ross and more, have openly talked about Vince McMahon's grand plan to change WWF telly in 2001. McMahon's longstanding TV flagship Monday Night Raw almost changed completely and became a WCW branded product.

It's true. Raw came spookily close to turning into Monday Nitro - meanwhile, SmackDown would've remained a WWF show and became the federation flagship. Then, McMahon would've been able to run two brands under the same umbrella and book several money-spinning "inter-promotional" pay-per-views every year.

USA Network probably weren't thrilled by the thought of this at all. They'd paid megabucks for WWF Raw, so it wouldn't have sat well with execs that Vince fancied sticking the failed WCW brand in there as a sub. Realistically, there was so much working against McMahon's vision for WCW, but the fact he even considered this at all is mind-blowing.

Nitro might've replaced Raw. Ponder that one, if you dare!
