10 Weirdest WWE Odd Couples

9. Awesome Truth

A misunderstood by-product of an utterly chaotic 2011 following CM Punk's 'Pipe Bomb' promo legitimately blowing summer plans to bits, The Miz and R-Truth were regrettably already cannon fodder by the time they technically reached their peak as a team.

Headlining Survivor Series having spent the bulk of the quarter as angry insurgents on a roster new Chief Operating Officer Triple H was losing control over, the duo were little more than warm bodies for The Rock and John Cena to steamroller as hype ramped up for their impending WrestleMania main event the following year.

It was was a best/worst-of-times situation for them both. 'The Champ' had castrated them as heels in the spring, taking Miz' title in April and destroying him in May before comprehensively defeating Truth in June, so their union based on disrespect was at least ideologically sound. Unfortunately, just about nothing else on the show hung together thanks to the bodged work/shoot drama of the Punk catastrophe.

Hanging like a cloud over proceedings, it rendered 'The Awesome Truth' as irrelevant as their eventual (and, at one time, ostensibly enormous) pay-per-view loss.
