10 Weirdest WWE Royal Rumble Entrants
7. Dolph Ziggler (2018)
There's nothing particularly weird vis-à-vis Dolph Ziggler dulling up the numbers of a Royal Rumble match. Heck, he's done it on the past eight consecutive occasions. At this stage, a Rumble without his particular brand of inconstant blandness would be a blessing.
Last year, we were promised that. In mid-December, The Showoff's on-screen character grew increasingly disillusioned, concluding that he was better off away from WWE's undeserving fans before dramatically vacating his United States strap and announcing his retirement.
Rumours of contract talks behind closed doors helped stoke some semblance of fire around Ziggler for the first time in yonks. Even if this was all an elaborate scheme, the payoff of the unexpected comeback would pay dividends, right?
Wrong. In Philadelphia, Ziggler returned in the Rumble's #30 slot as though he'd never been gone. It made him look like a complete chump. An elaborate scheme? Yeh right; that'd suggest the company knew what on earth they were doing.
