10 Wild Wrestling Plans That Were JUST NOW Discovered

8. Wildcard Extra Match

Vince Russo hated pro wrestling in its purest form and built a career - again, following a great wrestling show that failed dismally - on booking a show that had little to do with wrestling.

As part of this career-long quest, he "pioneered" several gimmick matches, which is the wrong would entirely, since no booker in their right mind followed the road he paved. Why would anybody book a second Reverse Battle Royal?

The first was a running race that Russo didn't realise was a race before booking it.

One idiotic bespoke special that didn't make TV, per Cornette, was the 'Wildcard Extra Match'. Basically, two actual stars would start the match, "but this twist" saw an "extra" enter the ring after five minutes.

The extra would be allowed to come in and do what he wants, as the two Rock and Austin types would then beat the extra (or an additional job guy) in order to win the match against...one another.

"Here is your winner (of the Rock Vs. Steve Austin)...

...the Rock (who just pinned Freddie Joe Floyd)!"

Not quite "And new!" as in iconic ring announcement, is it?

F*cking hell.
