9. Two Minutes With Jake 'The Snake' Roberts

The STARDOM Cinderella Tournament is a unique competition that, initially, promises brisk, urgent action as a primer for the later rounds.

A 10-minute time limit is set in the first round. The risk of elimination for both competitors in the event of a draw collides brilliantly with the risk of a strategic error to create a potent, unique strain of drama overflowing with urgency. Was this exhilarating, tense, high-speed action what Vince Russo had in mind when pitching the next idea on this list?

Hardly, since he was daft enough to select Jake 'The Snake' Roberts as the subject of this proto-Beat The Clock Challenge.

Yes, Russo pitched a Beat The Clock/Feast Or Fired hybrid as part of which, if a wrestler couldn't beat Jake within two minutes, they'd have to leave the WWF.

What the f*ck?

The WWF never wrote anybody out, so it was unnecessary for starters. Jake wasn't going to get over by failing to lose in two minutes. The most forgettable ham and eggers could do and did do that in a regulation TV squash. Also, Jake was a psychologically sound worker and everything, but watching him feel out an opponent for two minutes before the match simply ended would have made for dreadfully boring television.
