Ronda Rousey may be a first-class badass but she is a duck out of the proverbial water when it comes to performing scripted material in front of a live, largely unpredictable audience like the one she stood before on Sunday night.

Some of the fans in Las Vegas chanted her name, others booed. Tears were drawn and there was a genuine giddiness and excitement to Rousey that suggested she was legitimately happy to be in the position she was.

Such a high-profile role for someone so untrained and unfamiliar with it could have thrown a lesser performer off. Rousey very realistically could have been a mangled mess of nerves, stumbling over her own words and failing to leave an impression. That was not the case, as by night's end, she had the WWE Universe clamoring to see her methodically pick Stephanie McMahon apart.

Manipulated by The Authority, Rousey struck back, suplexing Triple H through a table and sending McMahon scurrying to the safety of the arena floor. Wearing a mask of anger, she signed her contract and ensured she will be a thorn in the side of the most powerful couple in the wrestling industry for years to come.

Most importantly, her journey to Wrestlemania 34 became a little clearer.
