It may not have been handled perfectly, but it is impossible to deny that there has indeed been a revolution in women's wrestling in WWE in 2016. Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair put on the first ever female Hell in a Cell match this past weekend, a match that was also the first female PPV main event in modern WWE. Whether you loved it or hated it, it was important.

It is utterly vital that WWE doesn't just step back and pat itself on the back however, as the wheels must keep turning on this women's revolution. Headlining PPVs is all well and good, but the presentation of the women still leaves a lot to be desired. You don't see Mick Foley telling Rusev that Hell in a Cell will change his life, after all.

NXT was the birthplace of modern women's wrestling in WWE, and the developmental brand's current women's division is sorely lacking to say the least. Asuka is great, but outside of Ember Moon, who else is there? Nobody, that's who.

With three women's divisions to continue running in 2017, WWE needs to make some shrewd signings. There are hordes of fantastic female professional wrestlers out there, but who does WWE need to approach, and quickly? Here are 10 to look out for.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
