4. Talk Shows
Think of how many of these talk show segments we have right now. Miz TV, Moment of Bliss, and even the one off returning King’s Court on Raw. And going further back, we had The Highlight Reel, Ambrose Asylum, and The Cutting Edge. Why do these segments keep getting recreated and reused without any real entertainment value?
Well, they are very easy to write. The formula is pretty simple, have a guest and he/shee either hates the host or hates someone else. Then have the person he/she hates assault him leading to a match down the line. But the problem with this formula is that it has no shock value.
Even WWE seems to know that they’re half-assing it, as the sets for these talk shows have pretty much just turned into bringing out desk chairs. Hardly a visually appealing change of pace like Piper’s Pit used to feel like.
This is just another bad trend that probably comes from bad writing but there still should be no excuse for seeing them every single week, with sometimes even two of them on the same episode of Raw. There are just so much better ways to utilize these workers and their mic skills. We have gone away from building feuds organically to force feeding them to the audience.
