The Aces & Eights story arc had a lot of potential when it first started. Their identities were mysterious, their social media presence was effective, and they seemed to cause indiscriminate chaos. It was, however, when they began revealing members' identities when the storyline started to jump the shark.

And no, the first of these reveals is not Tazz because, while his inclusion in the group was ultimately inconsequential, the actual reveal was not bad. No, the really bad ones were when Bully Ray revealed himself as President of Aces & Eights, and the #August1Warning.

Let's start with Bully Ray, a man who'd been fighting relentlessly against Aces & Eights for months, senselessly announcing that he'd been leading the renegade biker gang this entire time. While Bully Ray tried to explain in subsequent promos, it basically felt like TNA just wanted to do a swerve for no reason.

A few months later, TNA started cryptically tweeting and posting videos about a so-called #August1Warning, who eventually revealed himself to be MMA star Tito Ortiz. In theory, this isn't a terrible reveal, but it was one in execution, as the fans did not react in the slightest to Ortiz's arrival in TNA.

It's often said that the worst thing a professional wrestling audience can be is indifferent, and you're unlikely to hear a crowd with less "give a f**k" than the crowd in attendance for this reveal.
