10 Worst Booked WWE Champions Of 2020
8. Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross (WWE Women's Tag Team Championships)
Bliss and Cross made a strong start to their championship reign, dethroning the Kabuki Warriors at WrestleMania and defeating them again on SmackDown. Bliss made grand claims in the weeks that followed about raising the profile of the belts and bringing the women's tag division to prominence in WWE.
One look at the above image should tell you how that worked out.
Bliss and Cross' reign suffered from the same problems that have plagued the women's tag division from day one - a lack of believable challengers (Carmella & Dana Brooke? Really?) and the belts themselves being used as props to further whatever story WWE is telling at the time, rather than meaningful prizes in their own right. In Bliss and Cross' case, this meant their reign being brought to a premature end at the hands of the Golden Role Models as part of Sasha and Bayley's ongoing storyline (which would culminate in Bayley turning on Sasha after the duo lost the belts to Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax).
With the belts now very much in the background in favour of Nia throwing Lana through tables as part of the world's most bizarre push, the Women's Tag Team Championships remain the company's most vestigial titles.
