10 Worst Booked WWE Champions Of All Time
3. Jeff Hardy
Jeff Hardy’s WWE Title win at Armageddon 2008 is one of the most celebrated moments in WWE history. At this point in 2008, Hardy had become the #1 babyface in the company and was even outselling John Cena when it came to merchandise. Fans expected Hardy to get a lengthy WWE title run and for him to defend the title at WrestleMania 25 just a few months later. But what they got was a poorly booked reign that served no purpose.
Hardy's entire month as WWE Champion incorporated a storyline where he was involved in a range of accidents, including a hit-and-run automobile accident and an another involving his ring entrance pyro. Hardy’s first defence would be at the Royal Rumble, where he lost the title to Edge following his brother Matt Hardy turning on him. Hardy didn’t manage to defend his first WWE title successfully even once, absolutely terrible treatment towards the hottest babyface in the company at the time.
