10 Worst Booking Decisions In SummerSlam History

5. Kevin Nash Returns

Over the years, you could argue that there were many times at which Kevin Nash would have been a welcome addition to the WWE title picture. The summer of 2011 was not one of those times.

But that didn’t stop him from making his return to WWE programming at the end of that year’s SummerSlam show, where he hit CM Punk with the Jackknife Powerbomb, allowing Alberto Del Rio to slither in and successfully cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Now, admittedly Nash didn't actually compete in the title picture as a result of his imposition, but then again why did they even run with this angle in the first place if that was going to be the case? The lack of retribution for Punk made the booking of this all the more questionable. The only match we did get was Triple H vs. Nash at TLC in December—but even that was still too little too late.

The whole storyline just felt very unnecessary, and contributed to the derailing of Punk’s momentum. And the texting debacle that would soon follow was simply the icing on a badly baked cake.
