10 Worst Botches In AEW History

4. PAC Pins Trent, Sort Of - Dynamite 06/11/19

A very weird one here. PAC vs. Trent was a quality Dynamite opener, a highly athletic showcase that got Trent over and furthered the feud between PAC and Orange Cassidy. On paper, everything was great; Trent put a hell of a fight in but ultimately fell to The Bastard, one of the top wrestlers in all of AEW.

Unfortunately for all involved, the end of this match was a veritable sh*tshow. With Trent out of it, PAC went to the top rope and hit a beautiful Black Arrow, one of the most protected and devastating finishing moves on the planet. Bryce Remsburg counted the pin, but for some reason the official decided that Trent had kicked out, despite those shoulders being well and truly down on the mat. The Bastard smoothly transitioned into the Brutalizer submission, and that was that.

What happened here? Does the blame lie with Remsburg? Possibly, although it is difficult to be mad at Bryce. He's a hero, after all. Was Trent supposed to kick out of the Black Arrow? Considering how devastating the move has been portrayed, that doesn't seem plausible. Was PAC supposed to pull Trent up before the three? Probably, but who is going to tell The Bastard that he was in the wrong? Either way, it all looked pretty silly.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
