10 Worst Case Booking Scenarios For WrestleMania 35

5. Baron Corbin Vs. Kurt Angle Actually Goes Ahead

This Baron Corbin vs. Kurt Angle match is weird. So weird, in fact, that fans were quick to call it a ruse, with chants of "WE WANT CENA!" filling the arena as soon as it was announced, while social media buzzed with all kinds of conspiracy theories.

The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer and Mike Johnson of PW Insider tried to kill these rumours, with both reporting that WWE actually wanted Corbin to be Angle's opponent for this 'Farewell Match.' They claimed that this wasn't a troll job, but an earnest piece of booking, and that there will be no last-minute replacements on the road to New York.

The bout does make a shred of narrative sense, as Corbin and Angle have butted heads multiple times over the past months, with Baron beating Kurt earlier this year. Still, we can't take the reports as gospel, particularly with Cena currently trolling the hell out of Corbin on Instagram, and talk that 'Big Match John' will be in town for WrestleMania 35.

Cena vs. Angle remains the bout most people want. Corbin, for all his qualities as a stooge heel, is the dullest retirement opponent imaginable.
