10 Worst Champions Of The Best Titles In Wrestling

7. Great Khali - WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The title belt known as "Big Gold" started its life as the new NWA belt during a Ric Flair title reign. It went on to become the WCW Heavyweight championship and ultimately became the SmackDown brand title in the WWE. As the NWA and WCW titles are addressed elsewhere on this list, this particularly entry is about the worst champion to hold Big Gold during its WWE tenure. That champion is The Great Khali. Khali was a perfectly capable big man. He was an intimidating presence and probably would have been best served as a "heavy" for a more personable talent. Regardless, Khali won the vacated title in a 20-man Battle Royale. This win was basically a way to create a villain with a little heat so that Batista could win the title belt in grand fashion two months later at the Unforgiven Pay-per-view. It was the only World Heavyweight title reign for Khali, and it was quickly forgotten after Batista entered into a much more interesting story with Edge and The Undertaker.
