10 Worst Crossovers In Wrestling

10. Shaft

The year 2000 was a different time. There was no Facebook, no Tinder, and some movie executive thought remaking the movie Shaft with Samuel L. Jackson was a great idea. To promote this film, Shaft himself came to SmackDown to meet with Crash Holly, because every single other wrestler on the roster was busy that night.

Funky guitar music played as Shaft and Holly had a secret meeting in a club. Crash was paranoid that everyone was out to get him, because he held the Hardcore Title, which was then defended 24/7. Apparently Shaft’s wrestling knowledge was very limited, as he knew who Crash Holly was, but had no idea who Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco were. Which is odd, since they were big stars in the 70s when Shaft was popular and...ah, probably overthinking this.

Shaft then punched senior citizen Patterson in the head for no real reason, and the force of it was so strong that it also knocked out Brisco, even though it didn’t touch him. Huh. The man could have been world champ with skills like that.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
