10 Worst Crossovers In Wrestling

7. Arli$$

Ali$$ was a show on HBO, perhaps the worst one they’ve ever had. If nothing else, it was the most annoying title they ever had. A-r-l-i-dollar symbol, dollar symbol? It was a show based on the sports world, and one time Eric Bischoff and a couple wrestlers showed up for the hell of it. Someone then told the Arliss character to come to WCW, and so he did, and so it was bad, just as the prophecy foretold.

The story was that Arliss (and not the guy who played the character, Robert Wuhl), was there to scout talent. Considering this was in 1999, Arliss should have known the company sucked for about a year. It didn't matter, because Arliss didn't seem to care about any of the wrestlers (and didn't seem to know who they were anyway), as he had his eyes on Dennis Rodman. Considering The Worm was 38 in 1999, it's not quite clear why he wanted to so desperately sign him.

So what did this all lead towards anyway? Rodman vs. Randy Savage at Road Wild 99, which saw the basketball star get thrown into a portable toilet. Despite saying how this would break all sorts of pay-per-view records, Arliss himself didn't even bother to show up. Even he knew it was going to be !*$%.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
