10 Worst Crossovers In Wrestling

5. Robocop

Dead or alive, you’re coming with Robocop, Four Horsemen. Or, he'll just rescue Sting, and let everyone else get away. It was Capital Combat 1990 that featured a family friendly WCW crossover with the Rated-R film Robocop 2 which contained a scene with a young boy telling Robocop to go “f**k a refrigerator." Robo came to a WCW pay-per-view featuring Paul Ellering and Teddy Long in a hair vs. hair match. A bad mix of worlds to say the least.

Well unfortunately for Sting, he found himself inside of a steel cage, and he needed a man in a giant plastic suit to save him. Now Let’s just get this out of the way: How do Robocop and Sting exist in the same universe? Robocop takes place in the future. Had anyone in WCW actually seen Robocop? If they had, I'd buy that for a dollar!

And how weak does it make Sting look to be rescued by a walking toaster? Not only was the angle stupid, but Robocop’s credibility as a policeman took a serious hit as he rescued Sting, but didn’t apprehend any of the bad guys. Kidnapping and false imprisonment are serious crimes Robocop, so why did he walk away? This was the last we saw of the robot cop in wrestling, because he was probably fired. Sadly, he never wrestled a match, as that would have been amazing.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
