10 Worst Cruiserweight Champions Ever

1. Oklahoma

Oklahoma was not the just the worst champion in Cruiserweight history but one of the most tasteless characters of all time. Played by Ed Ferrera and orchestrated by Vince Russo, the character only served as a way for the former WWE writers to take shots at their former co-worker Jim Ross. After being hired by the WWE in 1994 the pair soon found themselves as key members of the creative team. For a short period of time their ideas were successful in fact Russo has been credited as the mastermind behind some of the Attitude Era€™s finest moments. The magic however wouldn€™t last and by 1999 both Ferrara and Russo would find themselves without a job. In hopes of saving their sinking ship WCW hired the pair. Unfortunately without Vince McMahon around as a filter this plan turned out to be a disaster. Instead of building new stars and creating interesting story-lines the pair decided to take up valuable TV time trying to get themselves over; Russo at one point even ended up holding the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. With WCW and WWE involved in a bitter ratings war, the two wrestling powerhouses would often take snide digs at each other. The Oklahoma creation was the only one that was needlessly underhanded, even going as far as mocking Jim Ross€™s real life disability €“ Bell€™s Palsy. Oklahoma won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship at the 2000 edition of WCW€™s Souled Out from Madusa. In an exercise of utter pointless he would be stripped of the title three days later for being overweight. Once the home of the greatest Cruiserweights on the planet, WCW would be bought out just a year later
