9. Bam Bam Bigelow
Bam Bam Bigelow was a relatively big name when he we went to ECW in late 1996. A year earlier he was in WWE headlining WrestleMania 11 against Lawrence Taylor, so it was a big coup for ECW to snatch him up. Due to his name, they probably felt like they had to do something to make him come across like a big star. That's why he beat Shane Douglas for the ECW Title in October 1997. They likely put it on him just so they can draw up interest to November to Remember 1997 where Douglas beat him for the title leading to his 400+ days as ECW Champion. This was at a time when ECW was starting on PPV, so they had to do something big to get fans interested in their PPV events. A problem with Bigelow's reign is that it was really short. You couldn't even label him as a transitional champion because he was just a guy that beat Douglas and then lost to him six weeks later. It was as if ECW was rewarding him for being a big name, but not really getting behind him. He was just there to put over Douglas, so that's what he did.
