10 Worst Endings In WWE Hell In A Cell History

Truth be told, there was no reason for Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman at Hell in a Cell 2018 to be contested inside The Devil's Playground other than it was September and WWE needed an attraction for their annual event.

They had history from the year prior when they collided in a variety of gimmick matches, but never Hell in a Cell. Even with Hell in a Cell legend Mick Foley serving as the special guest referee, their latest war wound up being an absolute mess.

Reigns and Strowman battled back and forth for over 20 minutes, but before a decisive victor could be determined, Brock Lesnar's music hit as The Beast Incarnate rushed the ring. It marked the first time that Lesnar had been seen on WWE TV since SummerSlam where he lost the Universal Championship to Reigns.

In his mind, if he couldn't get a crack at the red-leathered strap, no one could, either.

It was sound logic, except for how his interference led to the match ending without a winner due to the referee deeming Reigns and Strowman unable to continue. Lesnar's unannounced return was a sweet surprise and all, but there was no excuse for that ending. It diminished the Hell in a Cell concept and ruined Strowman's Money in the Bank cash-in.

Thankfully, WWE wouldn't book such a silly conclusion to a Hell a Cell matchup ever again, or at least until the following year...
