10 Worst Ever WWE Comebacks

6. Scott Steiner (2002)

WWE chased Scott Steiner for a year, before they finally landed his signature in October 2002. With WWE business in the toilet following the bungled Invasion angle, they felt that Steiner, one of the true stars of WCW's dying days, would give them a much needed boost at the box-office. The reaction to Steiner's return (he and brother Rick had wrestled for the company between 1992 - 94) at Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden was certainly encouraging. Fans reacted with glee as the Big Bad Booty Daddy destroyed Chris Nowinski and Matt Hardy and then cut a promo (before which he yelled 'gimme a f***ing mic!'). Steiner immediately entered into a feud with top star Triple H and the build-up was surprisingly a lot of fun. The press-up contests, bench pressing and posedowns were cheesy, yes, but both Steiner and The Game did their best to make it work. Going into their match at the Royal Rumble it was so far so good. Regrettably, their World Heavyweight Title showdown completely exposed Steiner for what he was: a man who was totally broken down (he had droop foot syndrome and a catalogue of injuries) and incapable of working a long, main event match. Triple H was certainly not the man to carry him in early 2003, either. The upshot was their match completely fell apart. The rematch at No Way Out the following month was also trash. WWE quickly shunted Steiner down to the midcard. For most of 2003 he was feuding/teaming with Test. Steiner's last appearance was in the 2004 Royal Rumble. After that, WWE felt he was so useless that they paid him to sit at home, before releasing him
