10 Worst Ever WWE Survivor Series Team Captains

9. Andre The Giant (1989)

The Heenan Family were going through something of a rough patch in late-1989 after shipping both the Intercontinental and Tag Team Titles in a matter of months to The Ultimate Warrior and Demolition respectively. The latter loss in particular heightened the discord, as tensions mounted between Heenan himself and The Brain Busters following their defeat.

Rumours circulated on the night of the Survivor Series itself that Tully Blanchard wouldn't even compete alongside his stablemates, masking the reality that he'd failed a drug test and was effectively gone from the organisation altogether. The hearsay was confirmed when Heenan himself donned tights as the new fourth man, but things went from bad to worse when talismanic captain Andre The Giant was eliminated in seconds by the Ultimate Warrior. 27 of them, to be exact.

A series of clotheslines bulldozed Andre to the floor, rendering him unable to answer a ten count or even move, as Warrior and his team celebrated. The result of the match itself was academic from then. Eliminations followed in usual supply, but with the Giant neutralised and The Heenan Family immobilised, the villains never really stood a chance.
